Director, Cyber Operations (Cybersecurity)

Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid); U.S. citizenship is required by contract.

Salary: $275,000–$350,000 annually.

What you will do

• Engage senior federal leaders and mission stakeholders on operational priorities, capability gaps, dependencies, and desired outcomes.
• Connect cyber defense functions, teams, services, and technologies to improve mission effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Lead cyber mission operations and solution subject matter experts, setting priorities, developing talent, and ensuring quality and results.
• Guide mission-focused recommendations, concepts of operations, capability roadmaps, requirements, staffing recommendations, and implementation priorities.
• Advance approved initiatives by addressing stakeholder concerns, adoption barriers, dependencies, and measures of mission impact.
• Support CISA account pursuits through customer discovery, opportunity assessment, solution shaping, technical narratives, and executive presentations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required by contract.
• Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)/Public Trust approval.
• At least 15 years of related experience, including substantial, progressively responsible experience in large-scale cybersecurity operations such as SecOps, SOC leadership, cyber defense, incident response, threat intelligence, or a comparable operational environment.
• Progression into senior cybersecurity leadership, including experience leading managers, technical leads, or multidisciplinary cyber operations teams.
• Experience supporting complex federal cybersecurity missions and engaging directly with senior government leaders.
• Broad understanding of detection and response, threat intelligence, threat hunting, vulnerability management, detection engineering, security telemetry, automation, and their operational relationships.
• Ability to earn executive trust, build cross-organizational relationships, identify underlying customer problems, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and build support for actionable recommendations.
• Ability to assess technical and operational tradeoffs and guide solution discussions with architects and engineering specialists.
• Experience translating mission priorities into operational strategies, roadmaps, requirements, resource recommendations, or measurable improvements, together with strong executive communication, facilitation, team leadership, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Depth in one or more cyber operations disciplines combined with breadth to lead across multiple functions. Expertise in every domain, platform, or tool is not expected.
