Senior Counsel - Product (Fintech)

Location: US-Remote; remote workplace

Salary: Remote Standard $163K–$215K; Remote Premium $171K–$226K; New York City $190K–$250K, plus equity offers

What you will do

• Lead legal review of product features, service enhancements, and AI-driven workflows from ideation through post-launch iteration.
• Define legal strategy for the product roadmap and advise on compliant, scalable launches within regulatory risk boundaries.
• Advise on consumer financial protection, EFTA/Regulation E, TILA/Regulation Z, UDAAP, money transmission, and Earned Wage Access frameworks.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Content, and Marketing on compliant user journeys, disclosures, advertising, and affiliate programs.
• Align product features with sponsor banks, payment processors, and payment networks, and negotiate complex product agreements and strategic integrations.
• Maintain product-legal playbooks, automated compliance templates, and review frameworks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of legal experience, including top-tier law firm training and in-house fintech or highly regulated technology company experience.
• Expert knowledge of consumer financial services regulations, including EFTA/Regulation E, TILA/Regulation Z, UDAAP, money transmission, and Earned Wage Access frameworks.
• Experience supporting payments or fintech product launches, affiliate marketing programs, and complex commercial contracts.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve systemic challenges, and translate legal concepts into actionable advice for non-legal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Design teams in fast-paced delivery environments.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active Bar membership in good standing.
