Residential Review Appraiser

Location: Remote within the United States; listed locations include Spokane, Kennewick, Tacoma, Bellingham, Bellevue, and Seattle, Washington. Up to 20% travel is required.

Targeted starting salary: $70,677–$93,128 annually, based on experience, plus annual incentive potential.

What you will do

• Order and manage residential appraisals and evaluations through approved third-party vendors.
• Monitor valuation requests, service-level agreements, deadlines, bids, assignments, and vendor engagement.
• Coordinate communication between appraisers, loan officers, reviewers, and internal stakeholders.
• Review residential appraisals and evaluations for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Support compliance with FDIC, FIRREA, USPAP, internal lending policies, security requirements, and applicable regulations while maintaining independence from lending functions.
• Resolve inquiries, process vendor and reviewer invoices, and maintain accountability for the full valuation ordering and review process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered instead.
• At least 2 years of real estate appraisal experience.
• State-certified residential appraiser preferred; a licensed residential appraiser is required.
• Knowledge of residential appraisal practices and federal and state regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience reviewing residential appraisals.
• Knowledge of FIRREA, USPAP, FNMA, FHLMC, HUD, and related appraisal and evaluation guidelines.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to review appraisal reports, provide constructive feedback, and manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws related to residential appraisals.
• Commitment to accuracy, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
