Software Asset Manager (Hybrid - McKinney, TX)

Location: Hybrid role based in McKinney, Texas, United States; regular reporting to a physical company location is required.

What you will do

• Oversee the technology operations team responsible for the software asset management lifecycle.
• Perform regular software audits and coordinate remediation of inaccurate or outdated records.
• Govern software requests, approvals, acquisitions, deployments, updates, renewals, and retirements.
• Develop and report metrics and risk indicators covering compliance, utilization, costs, data quality, audits, and lifecycle performance.
• Partner with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Vendor Management, Information Security, publishers, and software owners on contracts, renewals, audits, and purchasing decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software asset management and license compliance.
• Strong knowledge of software asset management standards, frameworks, and leading practices.
• Experience with software asset management, discovery, and inventory platforms such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, ServiceNow Discovery, Microsoft Configuration Manager, Snow, Tanium, or comparable tools.
• Experience managing complex licensing environments across on-premise and cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, GCP, and SaaS.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office environment and communicate in person, by phone, and electronically.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow experience.
• IAITAM/CSAM certification.
