TL;DR
Sr. Software Engineer, Systems Framework & Infrastructure (C/C++/Python, ASIC/AI): Developing software frameworks, APIs, tooling, and CI/CD infrastructure for ASIC and ML processor testing, bring-up, validation, and production systems with an accent on Linux systems programming, hardware debugging, and scalable automation. Focus on architecting APIs across the test-chip-to-product lifecycle, solving system-level debugging challenges, and mentoring engineers.
Location: Hybrid, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Company
Tenstorrent develops high-performance AI computing technology combining software models, compilers, platforms, networking, RISC-V CPUs, and semiconductors.
What you will do
Design, develop, and maintain system and ASIC access and testing frameworks with internal customer teams.
Architect APIs supporting the transition from test-chip bring-up to mature productized systems.
Execute ML processor, board, and system bring-up and validation, driving debugging through bring-up, validation, and production.
Build CI/CD pipelines and test automation infrastructure for reliable software deliverables.
Review code, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, plus 3+ years of relevant software development experience.
Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python, with fluency in Git, including rebase and feature-branch workflows.
Experience with Python packaging release flows, infrastructure, CI/CD in containerized environments, and test automation using doctest and pytest.
Strong Linux systems programming skills, including operating-system internals, thread-safe programming, and memory management.
Understanding of computer architecture, logic design, circuit design, and digital hardware design; ability to read schematics and RTL.
Experience debugging with oscilloscopes, logic or protocol analyzers, or pre-silicon waveforms.
Analytical problem-solving skills, clear verbal and written communication, cross-functional collaboration, issue ownership through closure, and a basic understanding of machine learning.
Nice to have
Experience with state-of-the-art ML processor architecture, chiplet-based ASIC architecture, board and system design, system bring-up, or hardware debugging.
Culture & Benefits
Hybrid work arrangement based in Toronto.
Opportunities to work across pre-silicon development, post-silicon validation, and production.
Hands-on exposure to ML processor architecture, chiplet-based ASICs, board design, and hardware debugging.
