Packaging Development Manager (Mascara)

Location: Based in Morris Plains, New Jersey, US, with regular trips to the New York office; up to 50% of the month may be remote.

Base salary: $95,000–$125,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Manage packaging development for in-house mascara projects from design through launch.
• Partner with suppliers, Procurement, Supply Chain, Creative, Artwork, Merchandising, and other internal stakeholders on packaging solutions and deliverables.
• Ensure packaging meets quality, technical, regulatory, sustainability, cost, and timeline requirements, including completion of testing.
• Coordinate aesthetic development, specifications, technical drawings, design reviews, and production needs.
• Develop category plans and manage packaging timelines, project costs, and budgets.
• Build agile internal and external partnerships and track packaging technology trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of packaging development experience, including knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and regulations.
• Strong technical knowledge of mascara packaging elements, particularly brush design.
• Strong project management skills, including multitasking, prioritization, and a successful project launch record.
• Ability to evaluate technical drawings for accuracy, design intent, fit for use, and dimensional tolerances across component types.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and experience in international and matrix organizations.
• Near-native fluency in English required.

• Proficiency in CAD software and experience creating die lines.
