Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Mexico City, Mexico; remote work possible from Mexico

What you will do

• Design, build, evaluate, and monitor AI agents for platform operations, including incident diagnosis, runbook execution, infrastructure remediation, service bootstrapping, and PR review.
• Automate repetitive workflows across CI/CD, environment management, access provisioning, and change management.
• Evolve Cortex into an AI-augmented developer self-service platform for service scaffolding, deployment debugging, platform-health queries, and issue resolution.
• Implement GitOps delivery with Argo CD and integrate AI into GitHub Actions pipelines for test selection, configuration validation, and deployment risk scoring.
• Operate AWS EKS infrastructure with emphasis on security, cost efficiency, environment hygiene, anomaly detection, capacity recommendations, and automated remediation.
• Improve observability and reliability using SLOs, error budgets, Datadog, AI-driven alerting, root-cause analysis, service scaffolds, and configuration standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering, including deep Kubernetes/EKS and AWS cloud-native architecture knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying AI agents or agentic workflows that autonomously perform operational tasks, beyond using Copilot or ChatGPT.
• Specific examples of replacing manual workflows with AI-driven automation that enables teams to achieve more with fewer resources.
• Experience with GitOps using Argo CD and CI using GitHub Actions for multi-service systems.
• Strong coding skills in Go and/or Python, treating infrastructure as software.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate technical problems and advocate for team and customer needs.
• Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or custom agent architectures, plus production prompt engineering.
• Customer-focused, proactive approach and willingness to assess whether AI agents can replace manual work.
