Staff Architect II, Software & Data Architecture (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Mexico City or Warsaw, with 2 days per week in the office.

Bain & Company’s NextGen Software Solutions team builds and supports software products powering the firm’s consulting, commercial, and private equity work.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction, governance, architecture, and delivery of a Coro product workstream, including data flow, service boundaries, integrations, and shared platform alignment.
• Write and review code, maintain technical designs and architecture standards, and guide internal and external development teams.
• Translate product roadmaps into technical scopes, estimate complexity, sequence work, assign sprint tasks, and remove delivery blockers.
• Lead, mentor, and grow multiple engineering teams; manage workloads, feedback, recruiting support, and technical standups.
• Oversee production support, issue triage, Level 1 and Level 2 troubleshooting, deployments, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers on LLM orchestration and tool-calling architectures, and lead technical discovery, POCs, and knowledge sharing around emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Senior technology leadership experience in software and data architecture, including 8+ years in software engineering and 2+ years as a staff architect or technical team lead responsible for delivering large features or full products.
• Experience building and operating scalable cloud-based B2B software products and delivering in an Agile environment.
• Strong backend experience with Python and FastAPI or similar, with Node.js and C# / ASP.NET; TypeScript and React experience for full-stack work.
• Deep experience with Azure cloud-native services, including Container Apps and Functions, and containerized deployments with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Working knowledge of LLM APIs and agent orchestration frameworks, including agent structure, tool-calling, and prompt management.
• Working knowledge of data pipelines and stores, including SQL schemas, ETL, data quality, Azure SQL, Postgres, and Snowflake.
• Deep experience building AI agents, including long-running and workflow DAG agents, plus familiarity with Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, resolving conflicts and dependencies, and communicating with project stakeholders and external vendors; an analytical, creative, proactive, and results-driven mindset.
