R&D Chemist (Electronics Materials)

Location: United States; nearest major market New Haven, nearest secondary market Hartford. Onsite laboratory role.

Base salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually, plus a performance-related bonus plan.

What you will do

• Perform analytical testing of customer solution samples using plating tests, volumetric and gravimetric analysis, instrumental analysis, tensile testing, and elongation testing.
• Calculate test results, enter samples and results into WinLIMS, and review and validate data.
• Communicate testing status to supervisors and laboratory staff.
• Store hazardous materials, dispose of hazardous waste, and maintain laboratory housekeeping standards.
• Operate equipment according to ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 standards and perform preventive maintenance.
• Follow site safety procedures and complete required HSE training covering hazardous waste, emergency response, and hazard communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Proficiency in performing manual titrations.
• Knowledge of instrumental analysis, including Instron, ICP-OES, UV/VIS spectrophotometers, and autotitration.
• Working knowledge of gravimetric assays.
• Working knowledge of computer software, including Excel, MS Word, Lotus Notes, LIMS systems, and Minitab.
• Ability to work autonomously in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to communicate complex and technical data clearly and interact professionally with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
