TL;DR
Scientist, Analytical Technical Operations (LC/MS & Automation): Developing and transferring robust, scalable analytical methods into high-throughput laboratory workflows with an accent on LC/MS, chromatography, microfluidics, automation, and data integrity. Focus on optimizing method performance, troubleshooting complex method and instrument interactions, designing technology transfers, and improving laboratory capacity for characterization, release, in-process, and stability testing.

Location: 100% onsite at hirify.global’s Technology Center campus in Norwood, Massachusetts, United States. Due to U.S. export control requirements, only U.S. persons—citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or refugees—are eligible; hirify.global cannot sponsor non-U.S. persons for an export control license.

Salary: $109,200–$174,600 per year, with potential annual discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity subject to eligibility and performance.

Company

hirify.global develops mRNA technology and medicines, supported by its own scientific, analytical, and manufacturing infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Lead operational analytical method development focused on robustness, reproducibility, throughput, automation compatibility, data integrity, and sustainable routine execution.
  • Translate development methods into standardized, scalable workflows for characterization, in-process, release, and stability testing.
  • Design and execute optimization, performance characterization, comparability, pre-validation, transfer, and operational-readiness studies.
  • Apply LC/MS, HPLC/UHPLC, capillary electrophoresis, microfluidics, LabChip or comparable platforms, and high-throughput methodologies.
  • Develop automation-ready sample preparation and analytical workflows using liquid handlers, robotic platforms, plate-based execution, and integrated data systems.
  • Lead technology transfers, structured troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, technical documentation, cross-functional readiness, mentoring, and continuous method lifecycle improvement.

Requirements

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline; alternatively, a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with directly applicable industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical method development, optimization, transfer, validation or pre-validation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support.
  • Hands-on experience with LC/MS and liquid chromatographic techniques, including method performance assessment, data interpretation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience translating scientific method requirements into reliable routine execution while accounting for volume, capacity, scheduling, turnaround time, training, and robustness.
  • Ability to independently design studies, analyze data, solve complex problems, manage multiple priorities, and influence cross-functional outcomes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with microfluidic, capillary electrophoretic, plate-based, LabChip, or comparable high-throughput analytical technologies.
  • Experience designing or improving automated or semi-automated laboratory workflows using liquid handlers, robotic systems, integrated workcells, or automated data processing.
  • Experience with mRNA, oligonucleotides, gene therapy, biologics, vaccines, lipid nanoparticles, or other advanced therapeutic modalities.
  • Knowledge of analytical procedure lifecycle management, data integrity, GMP/GLP expectations, and phase-appropriate method control.
  • Experience with LIMS, ELN, chromatography data systems, laboratory scheduling tools, automated data pipelines, or instrument integration.
  • Experience partnering with contract laboratories, external development or manufacturing organizations, instrument vendors, or automation providers.
  • Strong scientific judgment, technical writing, collaboration, communication, and ability to translate complex scientific concepts into practical operational solutions.
  • Proactive, curious, data-driven approach with commitment to quality, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and hirify.global’s mission.

Culture & Benefits

  • In-person, site-based working model with direct collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on laboratory partnership.
  • Competitive healthcare and voluntary benefit programs, plus fitness, mindfulness, and mental health support.
  • Family planning benefits including fertility, adoption, and surrogacy support.
  • Paid time off including vacation, volunteer days, sabbatical, global recharge days, and discretionary year-end shutdown.
  • Savings and investment programs, location-specific perks, and a smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free workplace.
