Data Center Technician 1

Location: Onsite in Riverton, Utah, United States; reliable transportation and shift coverage are required.

What you will do

• Provide customer support through phone, email, face-to-face interaction, and ticketing systems.
• Manage trouble tickets, service requests, alarms, and remote hands tasks through resolution, escalating issues when needed.
• Assist with customer installations, testing, closeout activities, and copper, coaxial, Cat5/6, and fiber cabling.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure including BMS, security systems, cameras, access control, and customer hardware.
• Conduct security walkthroughs, manage access procedures, escort approved visitors, and support maintenance and outage response.
• Maintain chain-of-custody logs, inventory, labor records, timesheets, facility cleanliness, and tour readiness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic understanding of data center infrastructure, including generators, UPS, DC plant, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, independent judgment, troubleshooting ability, and appropriate escalation with guidance.
• Working knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems.
• Ability to assist with installing and managing copper, coaxial, Cat5/6, fiber, and related network cabling.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and maintain reliable transportation.

Nice to have

• Previous NOC, SOC, IOC, or data center experience.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams.
• Basic hardware troubleshooting experience, including hard drive, memory, and motherboard replacement.
• Exposure to network and power monitoring concepts and tools.
• Experience supporting customer requests in a technical or operations environment.
