Site Reliability Engineer (Data Centers)

Location: Afton, Texas, United States; onsite work at a Tier 4 AI data center. Occasional after-hours maintenance may be required.

What you will do

• Install, label, route, test, maintain, and document copper and fiber-optic cabling, racks, patch panels, transceivers, switch ports, and physical connections.
• Deploy and maintain servers, network hardware, high-density GPU compute, and other data center infrastructure.
• Provide Tier 1 and basic Tier 2 support for Windows and macOS devices, Microsoft 365, accounts, peripherals, conference-room equipment, and onsite technology.
• Provision devices, support MDM enrollment and application deployment, administer basic account access, and maintain endpoint, asset, and lifecycle records.
• Respond to alerts, hardware failures, and onsite incidents; perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and documented infrastructure changes.
• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering, Network Engineering, vendors, and colleagues to resolve technical issues and escalate complex network problems.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in data center infrastructure, IT support, desktop support, or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience installing, cabling, maintaining, or troubleshooting physical servers, switches, or enterprise IT equipment.
• Familiarity with racks, structured cabling, fiber optics, basic data center hardware maintenance, IP addressing, Ethernet, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows and macOS, end-user hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Familiarity with endpoint management or MDM solutions, preferably Microsoft Intune.
• Basic experience with Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID user account and access management.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing, technical documentation, and inventory management.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and engineering direction accurately.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Enterprise or colocation data center experience and familiarity with enterprise server platforms or networking equipment.
• Experience with fiber optics, transceivers, high-speed links, cable certification, fiber testing, or network diagnostic tools.
• Experience with Intune enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, application deployment, Microsoft 365 administration, or endpoint security tools.
• Familiarity with hypervisor virtualization, virtual machine management, self-hosted enterprise storage, infrastructure monitoring, asset management, or documentation platforms.
• Basic PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting experience.
• Experience with employee onboarding, device lifecycle management, IT asset tracking, change management, or incident response.
• OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training completion; a current training card is preferred.
