DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Columbia, Maryland, USA; on-site 4–5 days per week, with flexibility to align with customer needs.

Salary: $49,996.80–$290,004.00 per year.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native and hybrid AWS infrastructure, including Amazon EKS.
• Manage containerized applications with Kubernetes across development and production environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments with Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools.
• Monitor Linux systems and troubleshoot networking, containers, cloud services, and other issues across the stack.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines with development teams using Git, Flux, and Jenkins, while improving release cycles and operational reliability.
• Support portable edge-computing infrastructure in on-premise environments and participate in Agile process improvement.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required; TS/SCI or TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is also accepted.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Mid-level candidates need 3–8 years of relevant experience; senior-level candidates need 9–13 years; SME-level candidates need 14+ years.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.
• Proficiency in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting, plus scripting or programming in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and other infrastructure-as-code or configuration-management tools.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, JIRA, Confluence, and other development and deployment tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments.
• Must be able to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire and work on-site 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Availability for occasional on-call work.
