Senior DevSecOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Tysons, Virginia, United States

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and compliant AWS GovCloud environments for DoD and civilian agency applications.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, Terraform, and related automation tools.
• Implement federal cybersecurity controls, security baselines, STIGs, automated scanning, and compliance reporting.
• Provision infrastructure and manage configuration with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Deploy and operate Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS, ECS, and Fargate.
• Implement monitoring, logging, incident response, and security enforcement with CloudWatch, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Splunk, ELK, Python, Bash, and PowerShell, while collaborating with software development, cybersecurity, and cloud engineering teams.

Requirements

• US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Security+ certification.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure automation.
• Strong expertise in AWS GovCloud services, security configurations, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, and Fargate.
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS, WAF, Config, and Secrets Manager.
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-171/53, STIGs, and Zero Trust, plus experience with SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanning, and SBOM management.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and security enforcement.
