DevOps Engineer - $20K Sign On Bonus - 30969

Location: On-site in Augusta, Georgia, United States, on the customer site 5 days a week.

Salary: $119,574–$185,000 annually. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available if hired as an hirify.global employee.

What you will do

• Support the development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS.
• Automate deployment processes and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable, rapidly scalable services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, maintenance, and scaling.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into operational infrastructure.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain high availability.
• Improve infrastructure processes and tools while evaluating relevant technologies and trends.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Must work on the customer site in Augusta, GA 5 days a week; flexibility to adapt to schedule changes is required.
• 9+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a related bachelor's degree; or 7 years of relevant experience with a related master's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform and application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda, and their use in infrastructure deployment and management.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go and work comfortably in a terminal-based environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, or the ability to obtain it before starting.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, Helm, and other development and deployment tools.
• Experience with or familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, and Presto.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
• Experience with or familiarity with K9s and AWS CLI.
