Manager, Data Architecture

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY, or Washington, DC, United States; 0–5% domestic travel.

What you will do

• Design and implement enterprise data architecture for the Development organizational unit.
• Create a scalable data framework and develop logical and physical data models for the enterprise data lakehouse.
• Review and advise on data integration, engineering, lakehouse delivery, architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Maintain the data lakehouse, team wiki, shared drive, and project management tools while managing cross-team delivery.
• Identify data requirements, anticipated outcomes, campaign performance, and prescriptive insights supporting fundraising.
• Engage stakeholders, provide technical support and training, communicate project status, and train new team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of related experience in data architecture and engineering for an enterprise data warehouse; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Understanding of data warehouse methodologies and data engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies.
• Experience with SQL required.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet critical deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, recognize and respond to problems professionally, and handle confidential and sensitive matters.
• Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and ambiguous situations.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt, Amazon Redshift, and CRMs such as Salesforce.
• Experience in a nonprofit organization.
