Senior Data Architect (Healthcare Data)

Location: Primarily remote within approved US states: Washington, DC; Virginia; Maryland; West Virginia; North Carolina; Pennsylvania; Delaware; New York; New Jersey; Texas; Florida. Requires 1–2 quarterly visits to a client site in Reston, Virginia.

hirify.global is supporting a major, high-profile healthcare data implementation involving claims and Pharmacy Benefit Manager member data.

What you will do

• Lead data architecture strategy and design for an active implementation covering claims, enrollment, and PBM pharmacy data interchanges.
• Architect and model high-performance environments using data warehouses, data lakehouses, FHIR, APIs, and event-based systems.
• Collaborate with large System Integrators on integration across PBM, claims processing, provider services, and member services.
• Translate technical architecture into business value and present design decisions and long-term value to executives, VPs, stakeholders, and business partners.
• Ensure architectures meet operational, compliance, and analytical standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in data architecture, including leadership of complex enterprise architecture initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; an additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Direct, extensive healthcare payer industry experience is mandatory.
• Deep operational knowledge of claims and enrollment systems, with PBM/pharmacy systems as the secondary priority and provider/member services as the tertiary priority.
• Strong mastery of API design and event-based architecture within clinical or financial data stores and claims adjudication systems.
• Hands-on architectural experience with Snowflake, MuleSoft, or both; Snowflake experience is highly preferred.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with HL7 FHIR standards.
• Experience spanning both clinical and financial healthcare domains.
• TOGAF certification or alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks.
