Scientist II (Metabolomics & Lipidomics)

Salary: USD 85,500–158,700 annual; discretionary annual bonus may be available.

What you will do

• Execute onsite LC-MS workflows to acquire high-quality mass spectrometry biomarker data supporting target biology evaluation, drug discovery, and development.
• Run automated sample preparation using liquid-handling automation, including protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, solid-phase extraction, and chemical derivatization.
• Prepare and execute global and targeted metabolomics and lipidomics protocols across biofluids, tissues, and cells.
• Process mass spectrometry data and perform statistical analysis using in-house AI/ML workflows and commercial software.
• Perform bioanalytical quality control, document experiments and study reports, and support timely data delivery.
• Maintain instruments, manage consumables and chemicals, and follow laboratory safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological, chemical, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of direct biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or at least 3 years with a Master’s degree.
• Proven experience executing LC-MS assays for endogenous small molecule metabolites or lipids.
• Experience with protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, or solid-phase extraction.
• Practical experience operating and troubleshooting modern LC-MS platforms, including UHPLC, triple quadrupole, or high-resolution mass spectrometers.
• Experience using analytical data processing software.
• Strong foundation in biochemistry and cellular metabolism.
• Hands-on experience or strong aptitude with Generative AI tools for coding.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
