Interim Associate or Senior Editor, Nature Reviews Cross-Journal (Physical Sciences)

Location: London or Pune, United Kingdom or India; hybrid working model. Maternity cover position.

What you will do

• Support Nature Reviews journal teams with varied editorial tasks, collaborating across an interdisciplinary team.
• Commission Perspective and Review articles, assess proposals and submissions, organize peer review, and provide constructive scientific feedback.
• Edit Reviews, Perspective articles, and Research Briefing articles for clarity, tone, impact, and accessibility across diverse topics.
• Build productive relationships with researchers, journal editors, production, and other relevant departments.
• Contribute to team training, publishing workflow discussions, and the evolution of editorial systems.

Requirements

• Higher graduate degree, preferably to PhD level, in a physical sciences discipline relevant to one or more Nature Reviews journals.
• Passion for science and broad interest in scientific research within and beyond the candidate’s specialty.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Research experience is strongly preferred but not required.
• Editorial experience is not required; significant editorial experience may support consideration for a Senior Editor position.
