Lead Network Automation Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Develop and manage internal tools supporting critical network infrastructure.
• Work with networking teams to define infrastructure automation requirements.
• Build automated troubleshooting, alerting, monitoring, and reporting tools for complex networking issues.
• Collect metrics, telemetry, configuration data, and behavioral information from diverse network devices.
• Deploy automation and analytics that accelerate problem resolution, prevent critical incidents, and reduce network-impacting events.

Requirements

• Strong software development background with at least 3 years leading software development projects in the network engineering space.
• At least 3 years of Python experience.
• At least 3 years of network engineering experience covering routing and switching, strong BGP, and firewalls.
• Automation experience across multiple platforms, including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, VMware/NSX-T, F5, Arista, Aruba, and Cumulus.
• Experience developing custom and external REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of Ansible and Python network engineering tools such as Netmiko and PyATS.
• Strong knowledge of relational SQL-style databases and nonrelational systems such as Splunk and ELK.
• Working knowledge of data dashboarding platforms such as Grafana.
• Ability to work collaboratively, share and reuse code, maintain strong documentation, and use Git for code management.
