Director, Construction Project Management (Semiconductor)

Location: Malta, New York, United States; full-time, site-based construction leadership role.

Expected salary: $152,000–$266,000 annually, determined by qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Act as the Owner’s primary construction representative across semiconductor fab construction, facility expansions, cleanrooms, and supporting infrastructure.
• Lead oversight of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, project controls, quality, and EHSS activities.
• Direct construction execution, sequencing, logistics, contractor coordination, field inspections, and resolution of constraints and interface issues.
• Oversee installation and integration of HVAC, ultrapure water, wastewater, specialty and bulk gases, chemicals, electrical distribution, controls, cleanroom systems, and AMHS interfaces.
• Manage schedule, cost, productivity, quality, change exposure, claims, turnover documentation, commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness.
• Establish a visible safety culture, enforce contractor accountability, and stop unsafe work when risks are not adequately controlled.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Typically 15+ years of relevant experience in major industrial, high-technology, pharmaceutical, data center, or semiconductor construction projects, including substantial leadership on complex capital projects.
• Demonstrated semiconductor fab, cleanroom, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex industrial construction experience.
• Experience working within an Owner’s Project Team, EPC/EPCM organization, or major construction management organization.
• Strong understanding of the complete project delivery lifecycle: engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
• Experience overseeing multiple contractors and packages, with strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, constructability, installation planning, field coordination, and interface management.
• Demonstrated EHSS leadership in complex construction environments, including high-risk work management and contractor safety performance.
• Experience with contract management, procurement, change management, schedule and cost control, and quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor facility infrastructure, cleanroom requirements, process utilities, and tool-installation interfaces; excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to challenge contractor performance constructively and influence senior stakeholders without relying solely on direct reporting authority.
