2027 Summer Internship (US) - Software/AI Engineer (Handheld Mobile Computers)

Location: Hybrid internship in Holtsville, New York, with at least 3 days of in-office attendance.

Salary: USD $33.00–$40.50 hourly

What you will do

• Integrate Android system APIs and platform frameworks to capture real-time CPU, battery, and thermal telemetry.
• Build efficient on-device logging pipelines that create structured datasets for machine-learning training.
• Develop Android demo applications integrating RFID, Vision AI, barcode scanning, and camera capabilities.
• Architect LLM-powered agents for workflow parsing, system insight extraction, and automated validation of developer API integrations.
• Manage team-based assignments while developing planning, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
• Anticipated graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Strong Android systems knowledge and low-level C++/Java foundations.
• Experience writing clean Python, C++, and Java/Kotlin code.
• Basic familiarity with machine-learning concepts and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Experience with LLM orchestration and agentic frameworks, including Python-based infrastructure, Streamlit, GCP services, and secure secret handling.
• Clear verbal and written communication, adaptability, learning agility, and willingness to learn new tools.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with technology solutions.
