Machine Learning/Agentic AI Intern (AI)

Location: Hybrid, in-office role based in the Cambridge, Massachusetts office

Salary: $40–$58/hour for Massachusetts-based roles

What you will do

• Undertake a well-scoped research project in agentic AI and a relevant application area such as robotics, vehicle design, factory logistics, or numerical optimization.
• Define project scope and agree on project direction with a mentor.
• Apply research knowledge to novel questions and work toward publication in an appropriate venue.

Requirements

• Current Ph.D. student in machine learning/AI, optimization, computer science, applied mathematics, or a similar related field.
• Publication background in relevant venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, SIOPT, or Mathematical Programming.
• Experience training and fine-tuning foundation models with reinforcement learning.
• Proficiency using agentic workflows to accelerate research exploration and experiments.
• Background in both agentic AI and at least one relevant application area.
