Finance Manager (Fintech)

Location: Remote; full-time salaried employees must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada.

Salary: US: $150K–$225K; Canada: CA$150K–CA$225K, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Own the driver-based operating model and expand it for new insurance products and business lines.
• Run annual budgeting, long-range planning, monthly and quarterly forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Translate financial results into executive narratives and lead monthly business reviews with functional leaders.
• Build financial models for new products, verticals, channels, and partnerships, including market sizing, economics, capital requirements, and returns.
• Compare live product and channel economics with underwriting assumptions, including CAC, payback, retention, lifetime value, and contribution margin.
• Underwrite vendor spend, support negotiations, evaluate planning systems, and assist with corporate development and build-buy-partner decisions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally including 2+ years in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity and 2+ years in strategic finance or FP&A at a high-growth company.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a similarly quantitative field.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including driver-based operating models, three-statement mechanics, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and accounting concepts with working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with unit economics in a consumer or marketplace business, including CAC, LTV, payback, cohort retention, and contribution margin.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear narratives for executive or investor audiences.
• Accuracy under compressed deadlines, sound judgment in selecting decision-relevant analyses, direct communication, executive-ready output, and ownership of outcomes.
• Hands-on fluency with AI tools for analysis, research, and workflow automation.

Nice to have

• Insurance, insurtech, fintech, or marketplace experience.
• CFA certification.
• Vendor negotiation or procurement experience.
• Experience with NetSuite, Ramp, or planning tools.
• Startup or high-growth experience, including building financial processes from scratch.
