People Operations Generalist (AI)

Location: Remote; full-time salaried employees must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada.

Salary: $80K–$100K annually, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Track multi-state law changes, draft policy updates, and ensure implementation across employee classifications and pay ranges.
• Lead the annual compliance audit and employee handbook refresh from start to finish.
• Handle escalated payroll, benefits, and leave questions requiring experienced judgment.
• Review and unblock work performed by Payroll and HR Administration team members.
• Rearchitect HR operations with an AI-native approach and progressively take ownership of day-to-day HR operations management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on HR generalist experience, including personally drafting policies, entering payroll, and handling compliance filings.
• Genuine in-house, multi-state compliance experience.
• Comfort working hands-on with payroll, benefits, and compliance in a small, high-intensity team.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to build with AI.
• Applicants must currently reside in an eligible U.S. state or Ontario, Canada.
