HR Generalist (AI)

Location: Remote, limited to full-time salaried employees currently residing in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada.

Salary: $80K–$100K annual base salary; equity opportunities may also be available.

What you will do

• Track multi-state legal changes, draft policy updates, and ensure implementation across employee classifications and pay ranges.
• Lead the annual compliance audit and employee handbook refresh from start to finish within the first 90 days.
• Resolve escalated payroll, benefits, and leave questions requiring judgment.
• Review and unblock work performed by Payroll and HR Administration team members.
• Rearchitect HR operations with an AI-native approach and gradually take ownership of day-to-day HR operations management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on HR generalist experience, including personally drafting policies, entering payroll, and handling compliance filings.
• Genuine in-house, multi-state compliance experience.
• Experience working hands-on with payroll, benefits, and compliance in a small, high-intensity team.
• Excitement about building with AI.
• Must currently reside in one of the listed U.S. states or Ontario, Canada; applications from elsewhere cannot be accepted.
