Lead Business Central Consultant (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance)

Location: UK-based, remote-first, with occasional UK travel for customer workshops, training and meetings. Standard hours are 9:00am–5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am–5:00pm Friday.

Salary: £70,000–£75,000 per annum.

What you will do

• Lead finance discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, and finance workstreams from discovery through go-live and support.
• Configure Business Central finance modules covering general ledger, purchasing, sales, VAT, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Define and deliver integrations using REST APIs, OData, web services, and JSON; test and troubleshoot them with Postman, Swagger, or equivalent tools.
• Lead finance data migration, reconciliation, integration testing, and UAT.
• Produce functional and technical specifications, data mappings, and process documentation while managing risks, priorities, budgets, and deadlines.
• Deliver customer workshops, demonstrations, training, and post-go-live support; mentor consultants and improve delivery standards.

Requirements

• Significant Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience and strong finance configuration and process knowledge.
• Proven experience leading finance workstreams or end-to-end implementations.
• Practical experience delivering Business Central integrations and knowledge of REST APIs, OData, JSON, and web services.
• Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, and application registrations.
• Experience with data migration, reconciliation, testing, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience working for a Microsoft Dynamics implementation partner is essential.

Nice to have

• Power Platform, Dataverse, Power Automate, or Azure Logic Apps experience.
• Azure integration services such as Service Bus, Functions, or API Management.
• AL extensions, events, and API pages.
• Integrations with CRM, e-commerce, banking, payroll, or reporting systems.
• Business Central certifications, relevant Microsoft Applied Skills, an accountancy qualification, or a finance background.
