Field Operations Director (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Field-based role in Los Angeles or South San Francisco, California, United States. Relocation benefits are not available.

Salary: $147,900–$274,700 USD annual, based on the primary California location. A discretionary annual bonus may be available.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, develop, and manage Field Operations Directors and other Field Operations team members.
• Establish the operating model, planning standards, leadership rhythms, capabilities, and ways of working across Regional and National Field Operations.
• Partner with four Regional VPs and two National Team VPs to consolidate priorities, business needs, risks, opportunities, capacity requirements, and execution barriers.
• Integrate Regional and National needs into Role-Based Orchestration, Annual Business Planning, resource planning, and enterprise operating processes.
• Connect Field Leadership with Enterprise Operations and cross-functional partners, simplifying and scaling solutions across teams.
• Synthesize field insights, performance signals, customer data, and emerging business needs into recommendations, decision materials, capacity plans, and escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10–12 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consulting, commercial, strategic, operational, and/or analytical experience.
• Significant field leadership and/or field operations experience, including leading and managing teams.
• Experience leading within large, complex, matrixed organizations.
• Experience translating enterprise strategy into operational plans and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and lead through others.
• Experience leading organizational change and building new capabilities.
• Ability and willingness to travel for internal and external business meetings.

Nice to have

• Graduate-level degree, such as an MBA or advanced life sciences degree.
• Experience supporting large-scale field organizations.
• Experience with business planning, resource allocation, operating models, and/or enterprise transformation.
