Controller

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; other locations in Ontario, Canada. Flexible work options: office, remote, or hybrid.

Salary: $87.5K–$105K per year, with eligibility for a bonus or merit program.

What you will do

• Lead an existing team of finance professionals and oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes.
• Review complex revenue recognition for software contracts under IFRS 15, including WIP schedules.
• Review account reconciliations, analyze results, and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for senior management.
• Support monthly forecasting and act as a business partner to business and operational leaders.
• Maintain internal controls, identify risks, and improve and standardize finance processes.
• Prepare audit requests, respond to audit queries, and support due diligence, acquisition integration, and other special projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a large accounting firm and/or industry.
• CPA designation.
• Experience with complex revenue recognition, project accounting, and software accounting.
• Experience with IFRS.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office.
