Senior Systems Engineer (Go)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX, or New York, NY, United States; applicants progressing to the offer stage may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

What you will do

• Solve complex, cross-cutting engineering problems across hirify.global’s foundational platform.
• Design architectures that reduce system fanout, simplify dependencies, and enable seamless platform adoption.
• Propose architectures, write detailed specifications, and implement maintainable code for scalable, highly available systems.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews, providing feedback focused on reliability, security, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including building and operating mission-critical, high-scale distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or a similar modern systems language.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available services at cloud scale.
• Understanding of organization, dependency management, and resource orchestration in large, multi-tenant environments.
• Experience with code review processes and providing thoughtful feedback on design specifications.
• Ability to work across teams to identify shared challenges and propose platform-level solutions.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with edge computing or global networking.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and related technologies.
