Backend Software Engineer - Enterprise (Go)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid schedule with 4 days on-site and 1 day working from home.

Compensation: $175K–$350K plus equity.

hirify.global is a fast-growing Series A startup building the Agent Cloud and infrastructure for AI labs and consumer and enterprise agents.

What you will do

• Build and operate Go services for cluster installation, configuration, scaling, upgrades, recovery, and decommissioning.
• Develop distributed workflows that handle partial failures, retries, concurrent changes, and state reconciliation across remote Kubernetes clusters.
• Build fleet tools for cluster inventory, health, configuration drift, rollout progress, audit history, and failure diagnosis.
• Integrate Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and infrastructure packages into deployment workflows across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
• Design APIs and data models for deployment state, configuration, and access validation; add observability, integration tests, and recovery validation.
• Own production reliability, participate in on-call, collaborate with SRE, FDE, Solutions, and Support, and reduce manual operations through automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and operating production backend systems, ideally infrastructure control planes, deployment automation, or asynchronous services.
• Strong Go skills, including concurrency, memory management, and profiling.
• Strong distributed-systems fundamentals: durable workflows, state machines, consistency, idempotency, and failure recovery.
• Experience designing REST or gRPC APIs, including resource models, authentication, error handling, documentation, and backward-compatible changes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, indexes, transactions, and migrations.
• Experience testing and debugging long-running operations across unreliable networks and remote systems.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and Helm experience, including cluster APIs and releases; ability to debug Go services, cloud IAM, networks, and containers.
• Ability to write maintainable, well-tested code, review AI-assisted changes, and take an ambiguous backend project from design through production.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI agents or applications using tools, code execution, or sandboxes.
• Experience with control planes, Kubernetes operators, infrastructure APIs, BYOC, private-cloud, or self-hosted software.
• Experience building multi-cloud, multi-region, or multi-tenant systems.
• Experience with Terraform, GitOps, Argo CD, cloud-provider APIs, event-driven systems, message queues, or workflow engines.
• Experience with infrastructure, developer-tools, or AI-agent platform products; TypeScript or Python alongside Go.
• Open-source backend, Kubernetes, or distributed-systems contributions.
