Network Engineer

Location: Hampshire, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. Candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and meet applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security, residency, and potentially nationality requirements.

What you will do

• Design, install, maintain, configure, and upgrade physical and virtual network infrastructure.
• Support LAN, WAN, routing, switching, firewall, security, software-defined, and virtual networking services.
• Investigate, isolate, troubleshoot, and resolve network, hardware, and infrastructure issues.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers, recommend solutions, and lead problem escalation and resolution.
• Deploy network applications on servers and voice equipment and conduct network testing and maintenance.
• Mentor junior Network Engineering staff and contribute to HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Strong enterprise LAN/WAN routing and switching knowledge.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across physical and virtual networking.
• Experience with Cisco and/or Aruba enterprise networking.
• Firewall and network-security experience.
• Practical experience supporting virtual networking environments.
• Understanding of virtual networking segments, Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways, distributed firewalling, VLANs, routing, segmentation, and physical-to-virtual network integration.
• Ability to contribute to HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, and technical documentation.
• Eligibility to meet applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security, residency, and potentially nationality requirements.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Advanced SDN administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with network overlays and software-defined networking.
• Knowledge of SDN Edge and north-south/east-west connectivity.
• Experience integrating virtual networking with enterprise firewalls and load balancers.
• Network automation and API experience using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.
