System Backup Administrator

Location: Hybrid role based in Leeds, United Kingdom, with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite

What you will do

• Implement, analyze, maintain, optimize, support, and test components within the global backup environment.
• Create, review, and document backup environments while supporting the development and evaluation of new and existing setups.
• Evaluate proposals and projects related to current and future backup environments.
• Monitor performance and capacity, report on results, identify improvement measures, and support implementation of defined solutions.
• Evaluate hardware and software technologies and recommend cost-effective improvements to address technical challenges.
• Support data center and access control system environments and analyze and resolve incidents.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in the enterprise backup sector.
• Expertise with Dell Avamar, NetWorker, PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), DataDomain, and ECS.
• Foundational knowledge of backup environments and industry-standard practices and procedures, gained through relevant training or comparable professional experience.
• Ability to develop solutions for defined tasks, assignments, and projects using technical expertise and established methods and procedures.
• Self-directed and autonomous approach, sound judgment, and reliable execution.
• Ability to collaborate closely with supervisors and department or functional-area colleagues.
• Awareness of the impact of individual work on departmental success, with a diligent and quality-oriented approach.

• Basic knowledge of the Dell Cyber Recovery Vault.
