Senior Electrical Power Engineer (Fusion)

Location: hirify.global Culham, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom; regular onsite presence required, usually 3–5 days per week

Salary: £64,820 per year, inclusive of a £6,500 specialist allowance

What you will do

• Lead medium-to-large LV and MV distribution projects from concept through detailed design and delivery.
• Design and develop HV/MV/LV earthing systems, including soil modelling, earth grid calculations, EPR, touch and step voltage assessments, transferred-potential studies and fault-current mitigation.
• Prepare and review earthing calculations, models, drawings, specifications and test requirements in line with BS EN 50522, BS EN IEC 61936-1, BS 7430 and applicable ENA/DNO requirements.
• Provide technical authority and consultancy for LV, MV and HV networks, including 11kV, 33kV, 132kV and 400kV systems.
• Deliver load-flow, protection-coordination, short-circuit and power-quality studies using engineering software and first-principles calculations.
• Lead technical work packages, supervise staff and contractors, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and prepare technical, safety and supplier documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and significant professional electrical engineering experience, with Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status or active progression towards it.
• Extensive post-qualification experience in power distribution, including substantial LV and MV distribution experience in industrial, hazardous or harsh environments.
• Experience designing, installing and testing LV and MV distribution networks, including electrical isolations and racking circuit breakers in LV, MV and HV systems.
• Competence using electrical design and analysis software such as ETAP and ElectricalOM for LV, MV and HV network studies.
• Experience interpreting complex electrical drawings, including protection and control schemes for LV, MV and HV systems.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical safety practices and experience preparing risk assessments, method statements, permits and isolations.
• Ability to work in line with legislation, codes of practice, and hirify.global safety, quality and technical requirements.
