Senior Technical Project Manager - Data

Location: London (LBH / New Broadcasting House) or Salford (Dock House), United Kingdom; hybrid with 2 days per week in the office

Salary: £63,000–£73,000 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience

What you will do

• Lead complex data or technology projects and programme workstreams, owning deliverables, outcomes, benefits, time, cost, scope, and quality constraints.
• Define scope, objectives, delivery approaches, estimates, milestones, roadmaps, and resourcing with sponsors, product owners, and technical teams.
• Track progress, assumptions, risks, issues, dependencies, resources, budgets, and change; take corrective action and escalate promptly.
• Build relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders, communicate decisions and progress, and facilitate challenging discussions.
• Establish governance, prepare status reporting, and support decisions through working groups and steering forums.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, external suppliers, delivery commitments, resources, budgets, and commercial dependencies.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience leading complex technical and/or data projects or programme workstreams with accountability for delivery outcomes.
• Experience applying and adapting Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methods in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
• Experience planning and controlling delivery, including milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, resources, and budgets.
• Experience influencing and managing senior stakeholders across business and technical disciplines, communicating complex information, and resolving challenging issues.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary delivery teams and managing external suppliers or third parties to achieve agreed outcomes.

Nice to have

• Recognised project management qualification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or Agile certification, or equivalent professional development and experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Confluence and Jira.
• Experience working in the media industry.
