Software Engineer II, Cloud (Go)

Location: Remote for now, limited to candidates based within 30 miles of Dublin, Ireland; a hybrid arrangement of approximately 2–3 days per week in the Dublin office is anticipated within 18–24 months.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale backend services for the Kestrel platform.
• Build backend features that unify security-domain data and support personalized customer experiences.
• Own deliverables, troubleshoot system issues, and analyze their impact on service operations.
• Partner with backend, core service, UI, product, and feature teams to define and implement requirements.
• Improve architecture, testing coverage, performance, observability, stability, and user experience.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call responsibilities to maximize service availability.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Ability to scale backend systems using sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
• Thorough understanding of engineering best practices, including testing paradigms, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment.
• Ability to deliver commitments on time and produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and regularly checked in for continuous integration.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Strong collaboration skills and a desire to ship code that runs in production.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, or OpenSearch.
• Experience working on security products.
