Software Engineer III, Cloud

Location: Remote within 30 miles of Dublin, Ireland. The role is fully remote for now; a hybrid arrangement of approximately 2–3 office days per week is expected once the Dublin office opens within 18–24 months.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale backend services for the Kestrel platform.
• Build backend features that unify security-domain data, streamline access to security information, and personalize the user experience.
• Own deliverables, triage system issues, debug operational problems, and participate in on-call responsibilities.
• Partner with product managers, backend teams, core service teams, and UI and feature teams to define and implement requirements.
• Mentor web and backend engineers on feature services.
• Improve architecture, testing coverage, performance, observability, stability, and user experience.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Ability to scale backend systems through sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
• Thorough understanding of engineering best practices, testing paradigms, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment.
• Ability to meet commitments on time and produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to take ownership of deliverables.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, and OpenSearch.
