Senior Director of Strategy & Operations (Healthcare)

Location: New York City-based candidates only; in-person work 3+ days per week with some remote flexibility. Office located in Gramercy.

What you will do

• Set the long-term vision, roadmap, KPIs, growth goals, efficiency goals, and operating outcomes for a critical business function.
• Lead high-impact initiatives from business case through implementation and remain accountable for results after launch.
• Analyze performance gaps, recommend investment priorities, and balance financial returns with the capabilities required to scale.
• Lead and develop a team that includes people managers; build the organizational structure and recruit required talent.
• Drive cross-functional execution by clarifying priorities, ownership, dependencies, and difficult decisions.
• Build scalable operating systems and use evidence from new approaches and frontline feedback to determine what to scale.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience, including a mix of strategy work such as management consulting, finance, or business operations, and direct startup experience.
• Strong track record of leading sizable teams, developing managers, building effective organizations, and making hiring and performance decisions.
• Experience owning meaningful business outcomes, explaining the choices behind results, and changing course when performance falls short.
• Ability to use first-principles thinking to turn ambiguous problems into clear, practical strategies.
• Strong analytical and commercial judgment, including understanding the relationship between growth, cost, and investment decisions.
• Ability to combine multiyear strategic planning with operational depth and detailed problem-solving.
• Ability to lead effectively across functions, build trust, incorporate different perspectives, and create clarity and commitment.
• Motivation to improve healthcare access and outcomes.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
