Government Affairs Senior Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. The position supports engagement in California and Colorado, with occasional travel to Washington, DC.

Salary: $155,000–$190,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

A rapidly growing aerospace company developing spacecraft and operating a spacecraft manufacturing business subject to U.S. export regulations.

What you will do

• Represent the company and advocate for its priorities with local, state, and federal government stakeholders.
• Draft and execute engagement strategies for operations in Redondo Beach and the Mojave Air and Spaceport.
• Monitor local government and regulatory developments, analyzing risks and opportunities affecting company programs.
• Build relationships with state and local representatives and coordinate with Government Affairs, Business Development, Marketing, Operations, and other teams.
• Explain complex policy issues clearly to internal and external audiences and support executive-level visits from Washington, DC.
• Represent the company at stakeholder meetings and official or unofficial events in the broader Los Angeles area.

Requirements

• 7+ years of federal legislative experience on Capitol Hill, in a department or agency legislative liaison office, or in aerospace government affairs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting constituent services or similar work.
• Familiarity with federal legislative processes, including appropriations and authorization legislation.
• Experience navigating national security policy, programs, budgets, or advocacy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience writing white papers or advocacy materials on technically complex topics.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently across a growing, fast-paced team in multiple locations.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of or experience with local government in Redondo Beach or Kern County, California, or Louisville, Colorado.
• Experience managing a corporate political action committee.
• Existing Capitol Hill network and willingness to travel to Washington, DC occasionally to maintain it.
• 4+ years of national security or civil space policy experience, including work with the U.S. Space Force, NASA, or the Intelligence Community.
• Experience with early-stage or high-growth aerospace companies.
• Willingness to register as a federal lobbyist if needed.
