Internal Communications Manager (Government)

Location: Onsite in Carlsbad, California or Washington, D.C., United States. US citizenship is required. Travel up to 10%.

Salary: $121,000–$191,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $150,500–$225,500 annually.

What you will do

• Lead and execute internal communications strategies for hirify.global Government, supporting approximately 2,000 employees.
• Partner with hirify.global Government leadership to align internal messaging with business strategy, organizational priorities, and operational needs.
• Support change management, organizational alignment, business transformation, and growth initiatives.
• Translate complex defense, government technology, and operational information into clear employee communications.
• Advise senior leaders on organizational messaging, employee engagement, executive communications, and business transformation.
• Identify communication gaps, manage internal channels and platforms, align messaging with corporate communications and branding guidelines, and measure effectiveness using feedback and engagement data.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in internal communications and change management, preferably supporting government, defense, or highly regulated business sectors.
• US citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent experience.
• Subject-matter expertise in managing programs of significant scope, anticipating organizational needs, and working independently.
• Strong executive presence and a thought-partner mindset, with the ability to advise senior leadership using critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Strategic ability to translate complex business goals into clear employee communication strategies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to tone, detail, and compliance, and experience creating varied content for large audiences in a global corporate setting.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage changing deadlines and fast-moving priorities.
• Ability to engage a diverse employee population and improve the employee experience.
