AI Software Engineer

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid work with office attendance twice a week and remote work on other days

Salary: €5,000–€7,000 gross per month

What you will do

• Build and maintain data products, AI solutions, models, and dashboards that support decision-making across Compliance, Non-financial Risk, Financial Risk, Internal Control, and HR.
• Develop end-to-end, client-facing applications and move proof-of-concepts into reliable, production-grade solutions.
• Build responsive front-end interfaces and integrate them with back-end services, RESTful APIs, and external systems.
• Apply LLM APIs and concepts such as prompting, tool calling, structured outputs, and evaluation to practical products.
• Improve code quality, scalability, maintainability, automated delivery, and the software engineering practices of data engineers and data scientists.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary Scrum team, coach colleagues, share best practices, and help deliver robust solutions suitable for regulatory scrutiny.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience building applications, including strong hands-on experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Angular, plus working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML5, and CSS.
• Experience with Azure and Azure DevOps, including automated build and release pipelines.
• Strong experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and connecting front-end applications, back-end services, and external systems.
• Experience building applications or prototypes with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini.
• Familiarity with prompting, tool calling, structured outputs, and LLM evaluation.
• Ability to build responsive, user-friendly interfaces for data-rich applications and write clean, maintainable code for real-life environments.
• Good command of spoken and written English is required.
• Curiosity, self-motivation, willingness to learn, and comfort experimenting, asking questions, sharing ideas, and combining front-end, back-end, and applied AI skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET, particularly hands-on experience with .NET APIs.
• Experience with Databricks.
