Fullstack AI Engineer (Senior) - IFS Logistics

Location: Remote, but must be based in either the UK or the Netherlands; the team has clusters in London and Amsterdam.

What you will do

• Own the audit product surface, including the review queue, finding triage and actioning, evidence, and self-serve configuration.
• Build customer-facing check creation, preview, versioning, and management workflows.
• Develop explainability interfaces for incorrect-charge detection, including rate-card and version traceability for later disputes.
• Build Django endpoints, API contracts, pagination, and fullstack data flows supporting large tenant volumes.
• Design agentic audit flows with meaningful human-review points and safeguards around customer freight spend.
• Partner with the Product Lead, contribute as the squad’s second technical voice, and mentor the Junior engineer.

Requirements

• Approximately five to eight years of experience building and shipping production software.
• Strong production experience with React, TypeScript, state management, and interaction design at scale.
• End-to-end ownership of a product surface, including resolving ambiguity and closing open questions independently.
• Fullstack capability with Python/Django development, API-contract design, and judgment about client-side versus backend solutions.
• Strong understanding of interface performance and scale, including pagination, virtualization, server-side filtering, and data-volume-driven architecture.
• Experience building human-in-the-loop and explainability interfaces, with auditability treated as a product feature.
• Ability to review, pair, give direct feedback, and mentor an engineer earlier in their career.
• Practical AI development experience using Cursor and Claude daily, including providing appropriate context and identifying incorrect generated output.
• Ability to form and communicate technical views in ambiguous situations.

Nice to have

• Design-system ownership or close collaboration with a designer on complex data surfaces.
• Experience with Django REST, BigQuery, dbt, Cube Cloud, or GCP.
• Production experience with LLM agents, RAG, or evaluations.
• Experience shipping agents for audit or fulfilment-rule automation and building simulations to validate logic.
• Experience in logistics, supply chain, freight, or finance-adjacent domains where errors have financial impact.
