Fullstack AI Engineer (Staff) (Logistics)

Location: Remote, with candidates required to be based in either the UK or the Netherlands. The team has clusters in London and Amsterdam.

What you will do

• Set the technical direction, architecture, standards, and delivery accountability for a new Experience squad.
• Design API v3 and service boundaries connecting Data Connect, TPAO, Shipper TMS, and Revenue Protect.
• Build shared SSO, identity, tenancy, permissions, and navigation capabilities.
• Develop the commercially critical demo environment and integrate hirify.global Intelligence and hirify.global Cloud, including Project Oliver embedding.
• Define where agents belong in product surfaces and establish guardrails, observability, and cost controls for safe agentic behaviour.
• Remain hands-on across backend, platform, and frontend work while contributing to reviews, pairing, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Approximately eight or more years of experience building and running production software.
• Deep experience with Python, Django REST API design, data modelling, and service reliability.
• Experience setting technical direction, documenting and defending architectural decisions, and adapting them when needed.
• Strong performance, cost, and observability skills, including production on-call ownership.
• Genuine fullstack capability, including comfort with React and the ability to improve frontend work.
• Experience raising engineering standards through code review, pairing, and direct feedback.
• Practical AI-native development experience using Cursor and Claude, including providing agents with context and evaluating their output.
• Ability to form and communicate technical decisions in ambiguous situations.

Nice to have

• Multi-tenant enterprise SaaS, SSO/identity, or ERP integration experience.
• Production experience with LLM agent orchestration, RAG, or evaluations.
• Experience shipping agents for real product work, including agentic audit or agent-managed fulfilment rules.
• Simulation or scenario modelling using synthetic data or replay.
• Experience with BigQuery, dbt, Pub/Sub, GCP, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
• Logistics, supply chain, or freight experience.
