Senior Software Engineer - Frontend (Angular)

What you will do

• Build and maintain user-facing applications with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, responsive development, Figma designs, and federal Design System components.
• Write and maintain Selenium and Cypress end-to-end tests and contribute to automated test coverage targets.
• Ensure frontend implementations meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Debug, optimize, and monitor applications across test and production environments and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, QA, UX designers, product managers, and federal stakeholders from refinement through deployment.
• Participate in code reviews, SAFe ceremonies, on-call rotations, paired programming, and Design System component development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must meet federal suitability requirements and pass a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web development.
• Experience implementing UI designs from Figma or equivalent design tooling.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards for frontend development.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and published OpenAPI specifications.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and modern frontend development workflows.
• Experience collaborating with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineering teams, plus strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal civilian agencies or government digital services programs; active Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with Angular Material, USWDS, Storybook, or similar design-system component frameworks.
• Experience with Cypress, Playwright, Jest, or Karma; AWS-hosted web applications and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with Java or Python, microfrontend architectures, enterprise frontend platforms, and SAFe or Agile delivery environments.
• Experience integrating with Login.gov, Pay.gov, identity providers, or authentication services.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional frontend initiatives from concept through production.
