Frontend Developer (Remote2)

Location: Remote role associated with McLean, Virginia, USA

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop front-end solutions and rich user interfaces for USPTO Patent Center modules using TypeScript and Angular.
• Translate requirements and business objectives into complete interfaces with Product Managers, UX designers, clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Create Bootstrap 4 wireframes, reactive Angular forms, and asynchronous implementations with RxJS.
• Participate in design meetings, understand complex architectures and integrations, and define API interfaces and data models.
• Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Implement responsive, browser-compatible, secure, and 508-compliant interfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
• 5+ years of experience; the position is mid-level.
• Fluency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript, including Angular 18+, Promises, async/await, closures, event loops, this binding, generics, and utility types.
• Strong knowledge of semantic HTML, HTML5, DOM APIs, browser rendering, responsive design, Flexbox, CSS Grid, and CSS Container Queries.
• Proficiency with Angular rendering lifecycles, state management, RxJS, routing, forms, performance optimization, builds, and API troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of semantic HTML, WAI-ARIA, keyboard navigation focus management, custom control accessibility, and 508 compliance.
• Knowledge of preventing XSS and CSRF and implementing secure authentication patterns such as HTTP-only cookies and safe local storage decisions.
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Jest or Vitest, with a focus on testing behavior rather than implementation details.
• Ability to decompose complex UI problems, plan data models, communicate fixes clearly, and obtain Public Trust.

Nice to have

• Backend knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and Node.
• Understanding of AWS architecture and AI technologies.
