Director, Strategic Communications, IT (AI)

Location: Hybrid, San Jose, CA, United States; work location: San Jose Great Oaks Headquarters

Salary: $191,900–$255,800 per year

What you will do

• Advise the CIO on executive communications and develop an integrated communications strategy.
• Shape narratives around IT strategy, technology, innovation, AI, and IT’s role in enabling the business.
• Create presentations, speeches, briefing materials, talking points, video, multimedia, social content, and thought leadership.
• Lead communications for IT all-hands, leadership meetings, organizational announcements, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Partner with the Office of the CIO, Strategic Communications, Employee Communications, PR, Marketing, HR, and other functions.
• Assess communications effectiveness through engagement metrics and stakeholder feedback, using AI-enabled tools to improve content, planning, measurement, and productivity.

Requirements

• 10+ years of communications experience, including significant executive and internal communications experience supporting senior leaders.
• Demonstrated success as a trusted communications advisor and candid coach to senior executives and leadership teams.
• Experience leading communications for a large, global function or organization, ideally in a technology-driven environment.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling, and executive content development skills, with the ability to translate complex business and technical concepts into clear narratives.
• Strong understanding of executive communications, employee engagement, organizational communications, and thought leadership.
• Strong executive presence, business acumen, stakeholder management, collaboration, adaptability, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and experience with modern communications technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience in technology, semiconductor, infrastructure, cloud, storage, or other complex B2B industries.
