Director, Internal Communications

What you will do

• Set and operate the internal communications vision, strategy, mission narrative, cadence, channels, manager cascade, and two-way feedback systems across the organization.
• Advise executive leadership and functional leaders; draft CEO communications, presentations, FAQs, video scripts, announcements, and talking points, and prepare leaders for town halls and high-stakes moments.
• Lead communications for reorganizations, leadership transitions, People initiatives, and other major changes while balancing transparency, confidentiality, legal, and security requirements.
• Build culture and connection through leadership forums, AMAs, recognition programs, onboarding communications, and employee stories in written, video, and audio formats.
• Define metrics, analyze engagement data and employee feedback, and run experiments to improve communication formats, timing, channels, and content.

Requirements

• 8+ years in internal communications, executive communications, change management, or a related field.
• Experience building or leading internal communications at a high-growth company.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills across different audiences and formats.
• Track record of advising executives and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading communications through growth, transformation, or organizational change.
• Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.
• Experience designing communications systems from the ground up, experimenting, measuring results, and improving them.
• Ability to lead cross-functional work as an individual contributor.
• Experience communicating across generations, locations, and roles, including remote, global, and non-desk employees.
• Experience producing multimedia content, including video and audio.

Nice to have

• Experience in media, gaming, technology, the creator economy, or consumer brands.
• Familiarity with Slack, Notion, Workvivo, SharePoint, and Google Workspace.
• Comfort working in visible, fast-moving environments where priorities change quickly.
