Quality Assurance Testing Engineer (Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States; role associated with Fairfield, Ohio

Salary: Up to $100,000; compensation range listed as $100,000 per hour

What you will do

• Participate throughout the SDLC and STLC by reviewing requirements, user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria for clarity and testability.
• Create risk-based test strategies, plans, scenarios, cases, and reusable manual and automated test assets.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing across web, desktop, and mobile applications.
• Identify, prioritize, document, track, retest, and close defects while supporting root-cause analysis and continuous quality improvement.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to validate complex workflows, integrations, and customer-facing features.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites in mabl, including reusable components and test-result analysis.

Requirements

• 7+ years of quality assurance and software testing experience.
• Experience validating REST and SOAP services with Postman or Bruno, including requests, responses, authentication, business rules, error handling, and integrations.
• Experience writing SQL queries to validate data accuracy, integrity, transformations, interfaces, and business transactions.
• Experience with regression testing, defect management, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting, proactive problem solving, adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear communication, cross-functional collaboration, leadership, mentoring, and customer focus.

Nice to have

• Insurance application testing experience and knowledge of insurance business rules, workflows, integrations, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience testing policy lifecycle, coverage, billing, payments, claims, underwriting, renewals, cancellations, endorsements, communications, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience testing iOS and Android functionality, usability, performance, and cross-device/browser compatibility.
• Experience with mabl, BrowserStack, Postman, Bruno, Jira, or PractiTest.
