Quality Assurance Analyst I (Fintech)

Location: Remote in the Greater Boston Area only, or hybrid three days per week at the Alpharetta, Georgia office. Candidates must be US citizens or valid Green Card holders. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Salary: $87,300–$114,800 per year.

What you will do

• Design and plan test plans and test strategies for projects and applications.
• Analyze requirements and user stories, identify risks, and derive manual and automated coverage for APIs, microservices, and integrated systems.
• Execute test cases, exploratory testing, API testing, microservices testing, and automated tests.
• Create and maintain automated tests using the Karate framework and enhance the existing test automation suite.
• Report quality risks, defects, and test completion status, and support release activities.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders while contributing to continuous quality and process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• 3–5 years of practical experience in Quality Assurance or Test Automation, including manual and automated testing of microservices APIs.
• Familiarity with agile development environments using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe, ideally within complex systems.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated tests.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, including test planning, estimation, prioritization, and risk-based testing.
• Exposure to agile testing practices such as BDD, TDD, or similar approaches, and tools such as Karate or Cucumber.
• Ability to analyze requirements and user stories, identify risks, and determine appropriate test coverage.
• Understanding of quality management methods, tools, and technologies, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, plus expertise in at least one object-oriented language, preferably Java.

Nice to have

• Interest in AI and ability to use AI tools in day-to-day work.
• Experience in a global online business, fintech, payments, or another complex industry.
• Experience with contract testing, Jenkins or other CI/CD tools, WireMock or similar HTTP simulation and mocking libraries, and Spring Framework or Spring Boot.
