Intelligent Service Account Engineer (HVAC/Building Automation)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; onsite Monday–Thursday with colleagues, with flexible work location on Fridays. The role is hybrid, with up to two fully remote days per week, regional client travel, facility surveys, and occasional overnight travel approximately four times per year.

Annual base salary: $90,900.00–$130,059.99. Incentive eligible; not eligible for sales commission.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver Intelligent Services consultation reports, including utility-bill interpretation, energy-use analysis, cost monitoring, benchmarking, and facility improvement recommendations.
• Monitor assigned contract hours, maintain margins, meet applied-time goals, and exceed contractual and customer expectations.
• Act as a trusted customer advisor, participate in strategic account planning, and support leader-to-leader meetings.
• Present technical business cases, lead sales processes when appropriate, generate account leads, qualify opportunities, and support acquisition of new Intelligent Services clients.
• Analyze facilities and usage, identify and estimate Energy Conservation Measures, develop engineering concepts, and assess guaranteed energy savings opportunities.
• Conduct facility walkthroughs, field surveys, and assessments; coordinate technical solutions with external partners and support regional clients.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience preferred.
• Knowledge of facility HVAC, control, lighting, and electrical system design and application.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal and external teams.
• Strong business acumen, including the ability to provide financial analysis to customers.
• Understanding of the technical proficiencies required to deliver solutions and aptitude for learning new industry materials and practices.
• Valid driver's license, proof of personal auto insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Ability to sit for most of the workday, stand and walk frequently, speak and hear effectively, see well, and occasionally climb ladders or lift/carry 10 pounds.

Nice to have

• Four-year electrical or mechanical engineering/design degree.
• Certified Energy Manager certification.
• Experience with building automation and control systems.
